Please Read Carefully
Physical Demands: This tour can be physically challenging at times. Age is not a factor provided you are physically fit and are able to walk from 1 to 3 miles per day over rocky, uneven terrain, up and down hills and stairs, and are able to stand for extended periods of time. You’ll be required to carry your own luggage from the train to the van at Avignon and from the van to the manor house. On the most active sightseeing days, you may walk several miles per day over uneven surfaces, and up and down hills and stairs. However, if you feel the walking tour is too strenuous on any given day, you will have the option of sitting at a cafe or visiting a museum instead.
Special Dietary Needs: Although we cannot be responsible for those with special dietary needs or allergies, vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions manage fine provided they are willing to supplement meals at their own expense, as needed. Please notify Kaydie if you have dietary needs and restrictions so she can assist you whenever possible.
Smoking: This is a no-smoking tour. You will not be permitted to smoke in the van, in the guest house, or outside of the guest house.
Price Guarantee, Deposit and Final Payment: To hold your place on a proposed tour, a $500 deposit and completed Reservation Form is required. This initial deposit is refundable if the tour does not take place. Once we have enough interested passengers to schedule a tour (4-6 months before departure), a deposit of 50% of the remaining balance will be required by February 1st. Final payment is due on March 1st. We’re sorry, but we cannot accept credit cards. Upon receipt of your final deposit, we will send you a Tour Packet that includes all necessary forms and travel information.
Single Supplement: Accommodations are based on double occupancy. A limited number of single rooms are available on each tour and will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Note: This charge is for a private room, not better accommodations.
Cancellations and Refunds: Initial deposit is $500 refundable for 2 weeks from the date received. After two weeks from receipt, deposits are not refundable except as noted above. All cancellations must be sent in writing by e-mail or U.S. mail and will be effective on the date received by Kaydie Vistelle. Final payments are not refundable.
Passports: All tour members must have a passport that is valid for 6 months after the completion of the tour. With the recent changes in passport requirements, please make your arrangements immediately either to renew or to order your new passport. It takes at least six weeks to receive it after you make application, and your passport will be valid for 10 years. You are not required to replace your existing passport until its renewal date. Please DO NOT wait until the month of your departure to check on the expiration date of your existing passport and/or to reapply. For more information, or to download an application for a US Passport, go to www.travel.state.gov. All information and instructions will be available on this site.
Baggage: Each tour member is permitted one small- to medium-sized suitcase (no larger than 24”x16”x10”) and a small day bag. Please check with your airline regarding its requirements for carry-on and checked baggage.
Trip Insurance: WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO PURCHASE TRIP INSURANCE. Most major travel insurance companies offer low-cost policies that reimburse some or all of your travel expenses (depending on your needs and the type of policy you purchase), including coverage for trip cancellation or trip interruption, lost baggage, airfare, medical expenses, and more. To ensure the best coverage at the lowest rates, trip insurance must be purchased within 10 days to 2 weeks of your reservation, depending on the insurance carrier. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance through a major carrier. The most popular travel insurance companies are Betins (Phone: 866-552-8834 or 253-238-6374, www.betins.com), Allianz Travel Insurance (Phone: 800-284-8300, www.allianztravelinsurance.com); Travel Guard Insurance, (Phone: 800-826-4919, //buy.travelguard.com); and Travel Insured International, (Phone: 800-243-3174, www.travelinsured.com). You can compare policies at InsureMyTrip.com (Phone: 800-487-4722, www.insuremytrip.com), which also sells travel insurance.
Land tour only: You will need to make independent flight and ground transportation arrangements to Avignon. Each tour terminates at the train station of the destination site. Kaydie will meet you upon your arrival at the train station and will return you to the same place at the end of the tour.
Medical Expenses: Participants are responsible for any expenses incurred during the tour as a result of illness or injury, including medical treatment, hospitalization and evacuation. Please check with your existing health plan to see if it covers emergency medical expenses incurred while you are traveling. Travel medical insurance can be purchased for such unforeseen emergencies (see Trip Insurance, above); however, Kaydie Vistelle does not provide such insurance. Participants agree to take every precaution to provide for their own safety while participating in the activities of Kaydie Vistelle. NOTE: You will be required to provide a copy of your health insurance card and a list of your emergency contacts in the United States when you make your final payment.
Cancellation by Kaydie Vistelle: Cancellation is unlikely; however, if your tour is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Kaydie Vistelle will refund the entire amount you have paid her for the tour within thirty days after the tour cancellation. The refund excludes airfare, train tickets, or any other expenses incurred.
